My bento today is airing on the side of health freak I have to say!
Really, I just thought these foods would be delicious combined and they were!
I realise that this bento features the dreaded leaf, though cabbage is so delicious and has flavour and texture so it is an exception!
I created some cabbage rolls which are filled with a tuna and avocado mix, lightly crushed with a fork and seasoned with mixed peppercorns to create a spicy flavour that brought the avocado and tuna together.
I placed the cabbage rolls on to a cabbage leaf with more of the tuna and avocado mix so there was never a dull bite.
For even more added flavour, I added some pickles.
Gherkin, home-made pickled onion and pickled beetroot were used and I also added some wilted chives for garnish and added punch!
For dessert I cut up some fresh cantaloupe melon, avocado and kiwi to create a lovely fruit salad.
The citrus flavour of the kiwi really complements the mildness of the avocado flavour and creamy texture!
