Today I wanted to show you guys my super awesome new grater!
A grater is a really handy piece of equipment and I’ve always brought super cheap ones, never really thinking anything of it.
I saw this one though, and the hubby decided to treat me!
Zyliss are a Swiss company that makes really good quality kitchen equipment.
This 3 in 1 folding grater was £26 reduced to £6 in TK Maxx so we couldn’t say no!
It has a 5 year guarantee and they advertise that it’s razor sharp so they must have a lot of faith in their products!
What drew me to this at first was the fact that it folds.
Box graters can be really awkward to store, especially triangle shaped ones like the one I have.
They are even more pesky to clean, getting right into the very top is a huge pain in the bum!
This one has a guard to go over it while folded to keep it together, keep it clean and to keep you from getting cut by it.
It’s really easy to slip over and is a perfect fit.
All of it is dishwasher safe which saves a lot of bother and time, especially with the blades being razor sharp!
It has three different sides, each with a different grater type, coarse, fine and 2 way.
I really like how there is a clear panel to check on how much you have grated and that the sides don’t meet at the top since in my experience that’s where a lot of the grated goodness ends up and gets stuck!
The blades are indeed razor sharp and can grate super hard nutmeg really easily, food is grated in one swipe and things like cheese don’t end up getting “mushed” like the results with my cheap graters which have dull blades.
It also has non stop feet on the bottom to stop it falling over easily.
The most important part for this product to work is it clipping together, otherwise the great blades on this would be useless and it would be all floppy and unstable.
Thankfully it fits together really easily and is rock solid!
In fact, you’ll have more trouble getting it apart than keeping it together!
All in all this was a mega bargain and the quality is stellar!
I’m really happy with it and have to say, Zyliss are fantastic when it comes to graters!
